Warning!!! This post contains Hunger Games Spoilers!!

I just finished reading Catching Fire and Mockingjay for the who-knows-how-many time. I really needed somewhere to vent about it. I was about to on Facebook, but Ronnie hasn't read these ones yet and I didn't want to spoil it for him. But all I can think is really, Suzanne? Really? Cinna? Boggs? Finnick? PRIM??!?? Man that woman knows how to rip out hearts and crush them and then put them back in your body just to be ripped out all over again. Mockingjay is absolutely nothing but depressing. Oh and what she does to Peeta! Unthinkable! I'm actually sincerely concerned for Suzanne's mental health. Who thinks of this crap?

I don't know why but this last go around got me really attached to Finnick. I just want to break down in agony when he is getting eaten by the mutts and Katniss drops the Holo to kill them all!! After all he's been through!! Gosh!! It just doesn't seem fair! And Katniss lives. Sometimes I wouldn't mind if she actually died. It's insane how she even survives all the crazy situations she's put in. And in the last book she seems so pathetic. Which is understandable since she's been through hell, but I get slightly annoyed at times. (Ok, I don't really mean all that. She's secretly my hero/me. Because you know you picture her as you as you read, right...?)

Don't get me wrong. I don't re-read books I don't like. I love this series. Except that I hate it. Well, mainly the last book. I'm one of those readers that likes happy fairytales with rainbows and unicorns. The whole point of reading for me is to escape reality and unpleasant stuff. So I like to escape to Forks and Hogwarts. Definitely not Panem. But there is something so addicting in her writing that keeps bringing me back. It could also be my lack of books, but I think there's more to it than that.

I have no idea how they are going to make these into movies. They are insane and brutal and heart-wrenching. I'm not even sure I want to see the movies. Oh, who am I kidding. You know I'll be at the midnight premiere. Even though some of the casting looks sketchy. Except for Peeta. I love Peeta so far. And Woody Harrelson as Haymitch! Pretty genius, although I liked EW's pick of Robert Downy Jr better.

Well, that feels a little better. Now I need something uplifting to read to recuperate from all this depressing reading. Sorry for the patchy writing. I'm not much of a writer.

"And may the odds be ever in your favor."
